Homage to David Park

Yes, it is slightly bizarre, to go seven months without a word and then write a post. Especially odd, is this long, long silence, on a blog called The Talking Artist. But, there it is. In skimming over my sites, I caught a quick glimpse of my own painting, Red Tree and Lake, and realized once again how much of that painting's success I owe to David Park (American artist, Bay Area Figurative School). I'd only seen a couple of his paintings, I think. One was in my book on 20th Century art (Monkey Woman), I think it was called. The other, Boy-Girl, is at the Hunter Museum of Art in Chattanooga.
