Disconnection

Sometimes it seems as if there's a total disconnection between artists and the rest of the world. Sometimes I think we're just here to see, think, and interpret. Who are we interpreting for, though? Each other? It doesn't seem as if people really understand our art. They look at it, they respond, they're admiring... but then they put things on their walls that just make me cringe inside. For me, the best art makes a strong statement. I'm not sure people really want to face a strong statement when they come home and walk in the door, though.
